Govan Heritage Trails – proposals in progress

Check out this beautiful map of the Strong Women o’ Govan guided walk and protest action, researched and developed by the Women’s Histories and Protests team:

Route taked during the 'Women's Histories and Protests' team guided walk and protest action, Nov 2013

Route taken during the ‘Women’s Histories and Protests’ team guided walk and protest action in Nov 2013 – also proposed as route for future walking tours…detailed below in booklet

And below is a map which shows the overlapping routes for four thematic Govan’s hidden histories walks, proposed by the Re-imagining the Govan Heritage Trail team in November 2013, after 9 months of collaborative working:

Proposed thematic, 'alternative' heritage trails – researched by the 'Re-imagining the Govan Heritage Trail team' in 2013

Proposed thematic, ‘alternative’ heritage trails – researched and developed by the ‘Re-imagining the Govan Heritage Trail team’ in 2013

You can check out each of these themed walks in more detail via these posts on Entertaining Govan, the Quest for the 13 Treasures of Ancient Govan, Shipbuilding, and Characters of Govan. They explain in more detail the team’s proposals for each thematic strand, and show images of the guided walks which the team hosted in November 2013.

In December 2014 the Govan’s hidden histories team has also launched the Govan Trumps cards.

More content and detailed proposals for walks, tours, and games in glorious Govan, coming soon…
